Emeryville: Have You Signed Up for Training to Become a Community Emergency Response Team Member?

Are you ready to help your neighborhood when a disaster happens?

The Alameda County Fire Department hosts a 20-hour virtual basic CERT training. Class registration is free and open to community members who are 18 years of age or older, or 14 to 17-years-old upon approval of a parent/guardian.

Training includes: Emergency Preparation, Team Organization, Medical Operations, Fire Safety, Utility Control, Light Search and Rescue, and Disaster Psychology.


FEMA’s IS 317 “Introduction to CERT” is a prerequisite on-line course:

Completion of CERT basic training requires “hands on” training to be scheduled at a later date.
