During the month of January, Waste Management will provide free curbside tree pickup for residents of Emeryville.
If you live in a house or apartment complex of one to four units:
- Trees will be collected curbside on the regularly scheduled pickup days. Trees must be cut into lengths no greater than 6 feet and cannot block sidewalk or bike lanes.
- Trees may also be chopped into smaller pieces and placed in the organics bin if the lid can close flat.
If you live in an apartment complex of four or more units:
- Owners of properties with four units or more can either place trees curbside, in a waste collection area, or call Waste Management at (510) 613-8710 to ask for a roll-off box free of charge.
Please note flocked or plastic trees cannot be recycled and must be disposed of as trash.
Leftover cardboard from the holidays? Let’s break it down! If you have too much cardboard to shut the lid of your recycling bin, excess may be flattened into 4 foot by 4 foot sections and placed leaning against your recycling plastic bin. If you live in an apartment complex and have excess cardboard, please speak to your manager about proper disposal.
