The City of Emeryville wants you to have a safe and happy 4th of July, especially during this year’s challenging public health circumstances. In previous years, the Emeryville Marina has been a popular place to observe the annual Berkeley, San Francisco and/or Oakland fireworks shows during the evening on July 4th, but this year, we have confirmed there will be no sanctioned annual fireworks shows in those cities.
While we hope that it will not become necessary to restrict traffic in the Emeryville Marina and Point Emery areas, officers will be on hand to monitor traffic flow and activity. With the goal of keeping it safe for park visitors, they will be on the lookout for illegal alcohol consumption (open containers), illegal BBQs and above all else, illegal fireworks being used. As a reminder, all fireworks are illegal to possess or display in Emeryville. For everyone’s safety, please refrain from lighting fireworks.
Please note that, should traffic restrictions become necessary, Watergate and marina residents’ vehicles will be allowed to pass, but may be asked to show proof of residency. Have a happy Fourth of July, and please stay safe out there!
