The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) has received notice from Gregory Ahern, Sheriff for the County of Alameda, that a curfew, has been proclaimed to preserve public order and safety countywide.
The curfew affects all persons, with limited exceptions, to remain off any public street, avenue, boulevard, place, walkway, alley, park, or any public area, between 8:00 pm and 5:00, am. The week-long curfew begins Monday, June 1st through Friday, June 5th.
To comply with this order, AC Transit will halt all bus service at 7:30 pm, today. This means, intending passengers will not be permitted to board after 7:30 pm and the bus operator will bypass bus stops. Passengers, already on board, are permitted to continue to their final destination. Once the bus is clear of all passengers, the operator will deactivate the head sign and interior lighting, as an external signal that the bus is out of service. We will restore service at 5:00 am. The safety and security of all AC Transit riders and employees are of paramount importance.
As a result of the week-long curfew, AC Transit will halt all bus lines, each day this week, at 7:30 pm and restore service at 5:00 am, the following day.
Please note, AC Transit continues to operate modified bus lines, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
