[ARCHIVED] Plan Ahead for July 4th Street Closures

The Emeryville Police Department wants you to have a safe and happy 4th of July! Please plan ahead if you be visiting the Emeryville Marina and Point Emery as there will be road closures in effect. Expect delays and road closures from 6:00PM to 10:30PM along Powell Street and Frontage Road.

Beginning at approximately 6:00PM Frontage Road from Point Emery to the I-80 westbound off-ramp (near Chevy's) will be closed to all vehicle traffic. Powell Street will be closed to westbound vehicle traffic from the access road to the Watergate Towers (1900 Powell Street). Watergate and marina residents' vehicles will be allowed westbound but occupants must show proof of residency to pass through.

The road closures will be in effect until approximately 10:30PM.

We also want to remind everyone that all fireworks are illegal to possess or display in Emeryville. For everyone's safety please refrain from lighting fireworks. Even sparklers burn at about 2000 degrees (hot enough to melt some metals). Enjoy the holiday safely so you can have a happy 5th of July as well!
