The Fair Workweek Ordinance becomes effective July 1, 2017. The City has published draft regulations which will become effective September 1, 2017. The City invites feedback on draft regulations from July 1st through July 31st 2017.
The City is sponsoring several open forums to receive public comments on the draft regulations. Public comments can be made at the open forum and/or online throughout the comment period. Refreshments will be provided.
From July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017 the City will implement a “soft launch” of the ordinance. The City will use this initial six-month period to focus on education by accepting and investigating complaints of violations of the Fair Workweek Ordinance, however penalties and fines will not be assessed.
