[ARCHIVED] Emeryville Resident Therese Lahaie is a Skyline Artist!

Lightshow-Lahaie

Maestro Jim Campbell curates the Salesforce Tower Art and will be flying Emeryville resident Therese Lahaie's The Lightbirds in April with viewing events on April 27, 29, and 30, 2023.

Light installation artist Thérèse Lahaie is influenced by the tides and seabirds she sees as she swims in the San Francisco Bay. Employing sunlight and optical mirrors, her Sunbird reflections occur during the day, then shift after sunset to video projections, with a second set of light patterns for a nighttime migration.

Lahaie is the 2015 national award winner of the LuciteLux Just Imagine award for her Art in Public Places commission Crossing Signal Mosaic in Emeryville, CA. She lives and works at the 45th Artist Cooperative in Emeryville, CA. Lahaie’s light sculpture projects include the SalesForce Tower Art—The Lightbirds projection in San Francisco, and works in the permanent collections of the Corning Contemporary Museum of Glass (New York), the Glassmuseet Ebeltoft (Denmark), Crocker Art Museum (California), and the Di Rosa Collection (California); and a public art installation, Crossing Signal Mosaic (California).
