A ribbon cutting ceremony at Point Emery Park will occur December 1, 2022, celebrating the completion of the Point Emery Shoreline Protection Project after four years of planning, permitting, design and construction.

In all, thirteen thousand square yards of beach area was cleaned and four thousand tons of rock rip-rap was installed to protect the Point from tidal and wave erosion.  In addition to the preservation of the Point, a new pathway with seating improves public access and enjoyment throughout the park.
