[ARCHIVED] Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Quiet Zone Project (June 14th at 12:00pm)

The City of Emeryville invites all community members,
business owners, and all other stakeholders to celebrate the groundbreaking ofour project.

Where: 65th St and Overland Ave. Parking is limited in the area, please allow time for parking or use another mode of transportation to attend.

 

Project Scope: The project will install several robust railroad crossing safety improvements at 3 different intersections that will allow trains to refrain from using their horns when traveling through the area thereby creating a “Quiet Zone”. The project intersections include Shellmound at 65th, 66th, and 67th Streets.

 

Overall Project Construction Schedule: 9 months 

 

Establishment of the “Quiet Zone”: 2024

 

Thank you to the 296 individual residents (and to the
thousands of other residents/workers represented by businesses and homeownerassociations) that wrote letters in support of the project.
