Chief's Message

Welcome to the Emeryville Police Department website. Everyone at the Emeryville Police Department is committed to maintaining Emeryville as the desirable place to live, work and play.

We at the City of Emeryville Police Department have been given a special trust by our community members to be their guardians of peace. We are first and foremost public servants, and the men and women of the Emeryville Police Department are grateful to serve a community that supports its Police Department. Our goals are to enhance the quality of life, seek solutions to problems, and nurture a sense of security for all within the community. Community partnerships are important to us. Transparency is important to us. Community input is important to us. Doing the right thing is important to us. Service to our community and our community's safety are important to us.

We care deeply for our city, and we demonstrate that care through various community engagement efforts many of which are done on the officers' own time. The nature of our work requires us to have thousands of interactions with the public and community members as we respond to calls for service, investigate crimes, help those in need, and during our regular patrols and communications. Often times our in-person contacts are during times of high risk incidents and/or times of distress and crisis, which can rapidly unfold in unpredictable directions. All members of this department carry out their duties in a fair and impartial manner as they strive to decrease crime and ensure a high quality of life.

Community partnerships are a key ingredient for ensuring Emeryville remains a safe and enjoyable city. We encourage citizens to take an active role in reporting all public safety concerns and working with us to help resolve problems with long term solutions. By working together we can continue to create and maintain the quality of life we expect for all those who love and enjoy Emeryville.

I hope you enjoy visiting our website, and please stop by and visit us in person when you are in the neighborhood.

As the Chief of Police of the City of Emeryville Police Department, it is my honor to serve this organization and this community.
