Construction Projects

Union Pacific Railroad Emergency Work

Union Pacific Railroad has notified the City of Emeryville that their crews plan to complete emergency work to replace a failed track panel in Emeryville at the 65th Street/Shellmound Street/Overland Avenue grade crossing. The crossing will be closed in both directions starting Monday June 19th at 6PM. The closure and work will continue through until Friday June 23rd.

The City of Emeryville will be detouring traffic to travel along 66th and 67th Streets between Shellmound Street and Hollis Street. Delays are expected in the surrounding area during peak traffic hours.

This emergency work replaces a failed track panel on the railroad.


Project Start: Monday, June 19th at 6 PM; Project Completion: Saturday, June 23rd


The closure will detour traffic and may cause delays during peak hours.

UPRR Detour


Horton Street Trial Traffic Calming Project


Horton Street between 45th and 53rd Streets link to site plan.


This project will construct temporary traffic calming measures and their effectiveness will be evaluated.


 Install temporary speed bumps, signage and striping


Project is on-going.


Parking and traffic will be impacted during working hours.
